We flew into Nurnberg and drove to Bamberg where Andrea and Zack currently live. Eric and I napped until they came home from work. They woke us up, put Eric in lederhosen, and took us to a local brewery where we ate delicious food and drank delicious beer. It was also St. Patrick's day so we met up with a few of their friends to celebrate:
The next day, Eric and I left and headed to Frankfurt. On the way there, we stopped by Rothenburg ob der Tauber and ate lunch and walked around. It was such a cute little town. There were several shops and museums, and we decided to stop by the punishment and torture museum.
We made it to Frankfurt, stayed the night, and visited the zoo the next morning before continuing our journey to Paris.
We finally made it to Paris, and packed the two days with site-seeing. We had dinner at the Eiffel Tower (one of my "bucket list" items) and we also watched a show at the Moulin Rouge. We saw the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Opera House, and the Arc de Triumph. We also fit in eating pastries and drinking beer (while wearing ties and barretts!)
After Paris, Eric and I headed to Friedrichshafen to visit Eric's buddy Phil and his wife Kati. Our visit with them was way too short. We woke up early next morning and headed to Schwangau to visit two castles of King Ludwig II. I fell absolutely in love with the castles. The first is Hohenschwangau and the second is Neuschwanstein. The photos do not do them justice!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our vacation. I imagine it will be quite a while until we'll get to visit again, but I really can't wait until that day comes again.
Thanks to Andrea, Zack, Phil, and Kati for your hospitality! It was so much fun to hang out with you guys!
Auf wiedersehen & Au Revoir!
